We strive to make a difference in communities by funding charitable initiatives and public institutions through grants and donations. Our primary focus is to aid underserved children and elderly with access to education and health care in the Dali Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan Province, China.
Grants to Underserved Children and Elderly of Dali Autonomous Prefecture
Nestled in the southwestern province of Yunnan, the Dali Autonomous Prefecture is a region rich in history and cultural diversity. Throughout history, Dali was home to the Kingdom of Nanzhao (8th–9th century) and later the Dali Kingdom (10th–13th century), both of which thrived independently before being incorporated into the Yuan Dynasty. This legacy of autonomy has shaped the identity of the many ethnic groups that call Dali home, fostering traditions that remain deeply rooted in the region today.
The local economy is predominantly rural, with agriculture and craftsmanship playing a central role in sustaining communities. The fertile lands surrounding Erhai Lake support the cultivation of rice, tea, and medicinal herbs, while artisans create traditional textiles, wood carvings, and ceramics. Despite these economic strengths, many rural communities face challenges, particularly in accessing education and healthcare.
Underserved children often struggle with limited school resources, while elderly residents, many of whom rely on subsistence farming, face difficulties in receiving medical care and social support. Local initiatives work to bridge these gaps, but disparities remain in ensuring equitable access to essential services.
Recognizing these challenges, Henix Foundation is committed to supporting vulnerable children and elderly residents in Dali. By collaborating closely with local teachers and medical professionals, the foundation works to identify those most in need and provide targeted financial assistance through grants. These grants help cover essential educational costs for students, while also ensuring elderly individuals receive the healthcare and resources they require. Through this community-driven approach, Henix Foundation strives to empower individuals, strengthen local support networks, and foster long-term well-being in the region.
